DOC Faults Coyote Ridge Staff For COVID-19 Outbreak

The State Department of Corrections takes the staff at the Coyote Ridge Corrections Center in Connell to taks for its response to a COVID-19 outbreak earlier this year. According to a Seattle Times story a report from the department’s Ombuds found corrections officials were slow, confused and ineffective in their response and were slow to quarantine inmates exposed to COVID-19. 2 inmates died and nearly 350 prisoners plus staff tested positive.
