Despite a record number of applications Central Washington University reports enrollment for the 2020 semester is down around 5%. Officials say there were over 12,000 first year applicants which is a nearly 25% increase. The credit for the record application numbers is given to faculty and staff who adapted to the outbreak by using virual means to meet with students, offer campus tours and expiditing admissions decisions.
