Big Bend Community College’s food pantry is in need of donations as their shelves are running bare due to high demand. The Viking Food Pantry in Building 1500 opened in 2016 and according to the college’s Carmen Ramirez demand has doubled to tripled during that time. The pantry stocks non-perishable and frozen foods along with toiletries. Ramirez says they currently go through around 2,000 pounds of food a month.
