The Grant County Sheriff’s Office announced that K9 Officer Hawk will have a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. The charity which started in 2009 so far has handed out over 3,700 protective vests worth nearly $7 million. The vest is sponsored by Marjorie Lacoy of Ephrata and embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of Gordon Lacoy,” The vest is expected to be delivered in eight to ten weeks.
