The City of Ephrata’s water supply will be chlorinated by this July according to Interim City Administrator Mike Warren. he says it’s due to a state regulation requiring cities larger than 8,000 to have chlorinated water. The city had planned for years to chlorinate but Warren says the timeline was accelerated after a water main was replaed last year. The amount of chlorine is not dangerous and is similar to what is done in swimming pools.
