ALMIRA – What caused a fire at Almira Elementary/Middle School three weeks ago remains under investigation. Almira Fire officials said multiple agencies sifted through the scorched debris and have determined that the fire was sparked in the Pre-K room, and although the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined, investigators say they haven’t ruled out an ‘electrical’ malfunction as a potential fire trigger.

Displaced students are learning in-person at various locations throughout the community and portables are expected to be set up, as construction on the new school begins.
