Former Grant County deputy questioning investigation into Sheriff’s brother

EPHRATA – A former chief deputy with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office who was one of two who recently resigned, questioned how an internal investigation was handled by Sheriff Tom Jones. iFIBER ONE News obtained a copy of Dustin Canfield’s and former Chief Deputy Darrik Gregg’s resignation letters which cite the handling of the initial investigation by the sheriff about possible discrepancies in payroll involving his brother, as the reason for leaving. Sheriff Jones confirmed on Thursday the complaint was initially reviewed by himself and payroll staff and says the investigation is expected to be completed next week.
