An Ellensburg man is safe after he was stranded on a rock ledge in the French Cabin Creek area. According to the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office deputies joined Kittitas Search and Rescue volunteers to rescue Austin Williams who was on a day hike when he attempted to access a creek in the steep drainage became stuck and lost most of his equipment in the creek. A helicopter was brought in to lift Williams to safety.
