Shooting off an illegal firework in Ephrata results in an individual being hospitalized. Police say it happened early Wednesday in the 100 block of F St. when the mortar failed to launch and the individual went to check on it thinking it was a dud. It then exploded striking the victim in the knee. They were taken to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake. According to investigators they will not be ticketing the violator.
