Area Police Departments Get Federal Grants

The U.S. Department of Justice awards grants to police departments in Moses Lake, Othello and Soap Lake so they can hire additional officers. The grants are provided through the DOJ’s Community Oriented Policing Services. In order to win a grant Law enforcement agencies were required to identify a specific crime or problem in their area and explain how the funding would be used to implement community policing approaches.
