The annual point-in-time homeless count in Chelan, Douglas and Grant counties along with the cities within takes place this Thursday. The survey provides federal and state officials with data on the socio-economic landscape of the local area with the goal of building a greater understanding of the causes and effects of housing insecurity. The 2019 homeless count tallied 391 homeless people in Chelan County, 21 transients in Douglas County and 148 people in Grant County.
