Bond is set at a million dollars for a 70-year old Cashmere woman accused of fatally stabbing her 96-year-old mother.
Police say Anita Jones called 9-1-1 last Saturday to report she killed her mother identified as Katherine Burgess Wiczai and officers responded to the Pioneer Avenue residence which Jones and her mother shared. According to investigators Jones admitted to the killing. Prosecutors are likely to bring first degree murder charges which would be the first time that’s happened in nearly three years.
