WA Could Have Stae Clam

Washington State has an official flower, an official bird and an official fruit – and it may soon have an official clam. When lawmakers convene next week in Olympia for the 2020 session a bill will be offered that names the Pacific razor clam as the state’s official clam. The bill’s sponsor says the clam’s abundance along with its ties to the state’s native American tribes make it a better choice than a manila clam or geoducks.
