U-Haul To Stop Hiring Tobacco Users

Beginning next month moving company U-Haul will no longer hire employees who smoke cigarettes, vape or chew. The company is implementing this policy in Washington and 20 other states making it the first major company declining employment to candidates who use nicotine. U-Haul’s wellness program for its employees includes nicotine cessation assistance. Starting Feb 1., applicants will be required to consent to submit to nicotine screening in states where testing is allowed.
