Moses Lake Police Department working to keep up with recent uptick in crime

MOSES LAKE – The Moses Lake Police Department is working to keep up with a recent uptick in crime and increasing call volume regarding the city’s homeless population. Interim City Manager Kevin Fuhr says four to five police officers are working per shift, but it’s not enough, and he’s asked the city council to fund the hiring of six additional police officers and two new patrol cars with a just under $1 million pricetag. The council could motion to approve the request at its next meeting.
