Man wanted in identity theft crime spree in Washington arrested in Cusik

CUSIK – A man wanted in an identity theft crime spree across multiple counties in Washington, including Kittitas, was arrested in Cusik last week. Joseph Simpson was taken into custody at the Kalispel Casino in Pend Oreille [pond a ray] County on April 11 for first degree theft and first degree ID theft. Simpson allegedly took out $45,000 in loans using the identity of a Kittitas County man. The 58-year-old is being held in the Spokane County Jail on $50,000 bond.
