BENTON CITY – A mysterious radar signal showing up primarily in the Benton City area has meteorologists scratching their heads. According to the Tri-City Herald, the National Weather Service (NWS) posted a few-second long recording of the moment a sudden, perfectly circular burst was detected by radar Tuesday morning [Jan. 17].
Meteorologists say the signal’s uniform, circular shape makes it extraordinary. The signal appeared to partially dissipate into the southern most portion of Grant County.
