Investigation continues into death of elderly man found in snowbank in Wenatchee

WENATCHEE – Wenatchee’s Police Department continues its investigation into the death of an elderly man found buried in a snowbank in Wenatchee just after Christmas. Police believe the 96-year-old man, who was discovered Dec. 30, near the Prestige Care/Colonial Vista independent living facility, may have ventured out on Dec. 29, and his body was discovered the next morning covered in snow. Autopsy results are pending, but hypothermia is the suspected cause of death, officials said. Prestige Care at Colonial Vista released a statement on Tuesday [Jan. 10] saying that they are working closely with the Wenatchee Police Department.
