Flu cases continue to spread at a high rate in Washington state

OLYMPIA – Flu cases continue to spread at a high rate in Washington state. The Washington Department of Health said Tuesday that 40 people have died from the flu in Washington including three children, as of Dec. 10. Health experts are urging everyone to get their flu shots ahead of gatherings with family and friends for the holidays to help prevent the spread of the disease, and hospitalizations in an already strained healthcare system. Officials are also recommending that people get COVID-19 vaccines and boosters and consider wearing a mask in crowded indoor places to keep yourself and others safe.
