Years of legal battles that embroiled city of Republic finally comes to end

Years of legal battles that embroiled the city of Republic and its former police chief has finally come to an end. The Seattle Times reports that a $275,000 settlement has been in a lawsuit in which a woman accused Ferry County Sheriff’s deputy Talon Venturo and then Republic police officer, Loren Culp of an improper investigation into the sex abuse allegations made by her in 2013 when she was 17. Culp and Venturo have been dismissed in the lawsuit.
