Moses Lake man facing federal charges in COVID business loan scam

A 29-year-old Moses Lake man is facing federal charges for allegedly defrauding the government of almost $51,000 in pandemic loan funds. Dondre Charles Jackson was indicted July 19 on six counts including four charges of wire fraud. Federal prosecutors say Jackson fabricated a nonexistent business in 2021 to apply for Paycheck Protection Program loans that were meant for companies suffering under the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown. He was arrested Thursday and has pleaded not guilty.
