CHELAN – A glider pilot miraculously walked away unharmed when he crashed into Lake Chelan Wednesday. Chelan Fire and Rescue say the plane went down about 200 yards off shore from the 25 Mile Creek State Park after taking it lost power over Lake Chelan. The pilot was able to free himself from the cockpit, and a good samaritan standing nearby used a canoe to paddle out and bring him to safety. Other than being cold and a bit shaken, the pilot was uninjured.
