QUINCY – Three people, including a young child, were injured in a collision Tuesday morning on state Route 281 near Quincy. Pedro Zavala Gomez, 32, of Quincy, apparently lost control of his truck near Road 5 Northwest, collided with another vehicle, causing it to roll into a ditch and catch fire, before Gomez’ truck flipped onto its side, blocking the highway, according to the state patrol. The woman driving the other vehicle and a 3-year-old passenger were out of the vehicle before it burst into flames.
The wreck left SR 281 closed for more than an hour. The state patrol continues to investigate the collision.
