The University of Nebraska’s Drought Mitigation Center released a map on Thursday, showing nearly all of eastern Washington is dealing with varying degrees of drought; from ‘moderate’ to ‘extreme.’ Moisture in Washington state is expected to reach its peak in May, eliminating drought for most of the state, howver drier than normal conditions are still expected to plague the Columbia Basin, but should drastically improve during the spring weather.
