OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) – Washington Gov. Jay Inslee wants laws to protect election results againt the “big lie.” Citing the deadly Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol and a breach at the Democratic governor’s residence, Inslee urged state lawmakers Friday to approve a bill that would make it a crime for elected officials or candidates to knowingly lie about election outcomes if those claims result in violence.
