Sentencing for former owner of Easterday Farms in extortion case delayed for third time

BASIN CITY – Sentencing for the former owner of Easterday Farms accused in an extortion case has been delayed for a third time. The Capital Press reports that a judge postponed Cody Easterday’s sentencing to June 13, allowing the former cattleman six more months of freedom and a chance to tend to his affairs. Cody Easterday was charged with conning Tyson Foods out of over $200 million in a ghost cattle scheme, in which the cattleman fraudulently billed Tyson for non existent animals.
