EPHRATA – The 51-year-old Quincy man charged in a brutal domestic attack made his first appearance in court Friday. Samuel Montoya is facing first-degree attempted murder after police say he slashed his wife’s throat with a knife at the business she owns in Soap Lake, on Thursday. He is being held on a $1 million bond. Montoya’s arraignment has been scheduled for July 25.
