State ordered to pay attorney’s fees in continuing neglect lawsuit

SEATTLE (AP) – The Washington state Attorney’s office and the Department of Social Services have been ordered to pay more than $122,000 in attorney’s fees for withholding evidence in a continuing lawsuit. Friday’s ruling stems from the case involving the alleged severe neglect of a developmentally disabled woman in Kent. The judge also said the state may face additional sanctions. The state has denied intentionally withholding records.
