OTHELLO – After serving nine years as Othello’s Police Chief, and 30+ years policing in Othello and Sunnyside, Phil Schenck [sh-ay-nk] announced he is retiring. Longtime Assistant Chief David Rehaume [ree ham], a police officer in Othello for over 30 years, was appointed by the city council on Monday to become interim chief. He will take over June 1.
