Washington ‘common sense’ gun legislation takes effect immediately

OLYMPIA Wash. (AP) – Washington Gov. Jay Inslee’s gun violence bills signed into law Tuesday, including banning the sale of specific semi-automatic weapons, is being criticized by gun advocates. The sales ban, which took effect immediately, drew quick legal challenges from Republican run gun groups, including the Bellevue based Second Amendment Foundation. Washington is the 10th state to enact ‘common sense’ gun legislation, amid a rise in mass shootings around the country.
