NWAC putting public on alert about potential avalanches in Cascade mountains

MAZAMA – The Northwest Avalanche Center (NWAC) is putting the public on alert about the potential for avalanches in the Cascade mountains. NWAC’s avalanche warning spans through 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 29. NWAC’s memo to the public states that the first significant spring warm-up will lead to dangerous avalanche conditions over the next several days, following several weeks of below normal temperatures and snowy weather.
