Child marriage in Washington state is being debated

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) – Child marriage in Washington state is being debated. A bill to establish a minimum marriage age of 18 has stalled again in the Legislature. House Bill 1455 unanimously passed the Washington House, but failed in the Senate, The Seattle Times reported. Children of any age can still get married in Washington state. Lawmakers will convene again in early 2024.
