Nearly 24 hour long stand off at home near Leavenworth ends peacefully

LEAVENWORTH – A nearly 24 hour long stand off at a home near Leavenworth ended with the arrest of the suspect. It all began on Tuesday morning when Chelan County deputies say Abel Wilkes “flipped out” and was shooting a gun at his home on Chumstick Highway, before barricading himself inside. The ordeal ended at about 5 a.m. Wednesday and Wilkes was taken into custody. The investigations is continuing.
