Evaluation deems Chelan County murder suspect competent to stand trial

WATERVILLE – A man charged in the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend in Douglas County has been found competent to stand trial. Dalton Potter underwent an evaluation at the Chelan County Regional Justice Center and a psychologist determined the 28 year old understands the charges against him. He is accused of killing Alyssa Longwell on Badger Mountain Road Jan. 21. An arraignment hearing has been set for March 14. Potter remains jailed on $3 million bail.
