MOSES LAKE – A bizarre turn of events on Valentines Day has now resulted in multiple charges for a Soap Lake man police say deliberately tried to run over a dog and into deputies. Police conducted a traffic stop on Feb. 14 after seeing a vehicle attempting to hit a dog on Grand Drive and the driver started accelerating toward the police vehicle, before speeding away, nearly hitting two parked cars and almost causing a collision. Jose Andres Silva Padilla, 26, is facing felony eluding, attempted animal cruelty, reckless driving and driving with a suspended license.
