GPS data will allow wildlife officials to study bighorn sheep

GPS data will allow wildlife officials to study bighorn sheep, and ultimately help to identify management solutions. The Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife will begin a series of aerial captures between Jan. and March of bighorn sheep, mule deer and mountain goats in Okanogan, Chelan, and Kittitas counties and the animals will be fitted with GPS collars to document survival habits, migration patterns and habitat selection. The monitoring project will last four years.
