CWU launching ‘rape prevention’ committee

ELLENSBURG – Several protests at Central Washington University calling out the lack of sexual abuse protections on campus has prompted the school to address the safety concerns. In the coming weeks, CWU says they will form a new gender-based violence prevention committee, comprised of 12 students, faculty, and staff. The group will meet over the next two quarters to help the university determine its next steps to prevent rape and gender-based violence on campus. The group that led the protests, Cats Against Assault, will host another demonstration for students on November 21.
