COULEE DAM – It took fire crews several hours to bring an over 100-acre fire under control northeast of Coulee Dam Saturday afternoon. The fire broke out on tribal land, reportedly at Peter Dan Road and Dump Road, prompting an initial response from Mt. Tolman Fire Center around 4pm. Fire officials say the blaze grew to 102 acres, and the fire was fully extinguished around midnight. No structures were lost and no one was hurt. Fire officials say the blaze was human-caused, but the details remain under investigation.
