WENATCHEE – The Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs has awarded over $175,000 to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office to fund two full-time mental health professionals. The two new positions will operate under the established Behavioral Health Unit Program (BHU) at Chelan County to increase service coverage. The additional positions would expand evening and weekend service to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Wenatchee Police Department and the East Wenatchee Police Department.
