WAUCONDA – It takes a village. That familiar African proverb was brought to life as the community of Wauconda rallied around an elderly Okanogan County couple who lost everything after a mudslide swept through their property earlier this month [June 3]. Ron Rose, 85, and his 80 year old wife, Peggy Rose lost 95% of what they owned that day. Now, two collection funds have been set up to help the couple. Donations can be made at any STCU Credit Union branch under the name of Rose Disaster Relief Fund or US Bank Branches under the name of Peggy Rose Flood Disaster Fund.
