A viral social media post calling out Dollar General for overworked and underpaid employee practices couldn’t happen at a worse time. The criticism comes as Dollar General opened in Mattawa and Kittitas last year, with two more Dollar Generals set for construction in the Soap Lake/Ephrata area and in Warden this year. A former manager of the retailer says she was fired earlier this month for airing her frustrations over low pay, limiting of employment and slashing of hours. A nationwide Dollar General employee walkout is slated for May 2.
