April showers bring May….snow to the area

April showers are supposed to bring May flowers, the saying goes, but instead an abnormal amount of snow fell in the area within the last 24 to 48 hours. On Tuesday, Chelan County Public Works crews cleared two feet of snow from Mission Ridge Road, according to a press release, with the Plain area receiving up to 9.5 inches of snow. And, in north central Washington Leavenworth saw up to three inches of snow. The National Weather Service says expect more snow Wednesday, with the bulk blanketing Lake Chelan. The area between Stevens Pass and Blewett Pass should get up to eight inches overnight.
