Washington Fish and Wildlife director accused of poaching

The director of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife’s north central region is facing allegations of poaching. Brock Hoenes of Ephrata has been charged with second-degree unlawful hunting of big game,
following an incident just before Thanksgiving [Nov. 13] in which he illegally killed an animal in Ferry County, according to court documents. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail, a $5,000 fine or both. He said the shooting was accidental and he reported the incident immediately and is cooperating with investigators.
