Seasonal flu claims three lives in Washington

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) – Three people have died in Washington from for the seasonal flu. The Department of Health said in a news release Wednesday that the deaths were among residents age 65 or older who had tested positive for influenza A, amid rising flu activity in the state. Last season, officials said flu activity was historically low, likely because of COVID-19 measures taken to slow the spread of illness. Flu activity typically peaks between December and February, but significant activity can last as late as May.
