SEATTLE (AP) – The first three cases of the omicron coronavirus variant have been confirmed in Washington state, officials said Saturday. The cases were found in Thurston, Pierce and King, according to a release from the Washington Department of Health, which noted the investigation has not yet revealed the patients’ travel histories, but it is not believe the cases are related. Samples from the three infected patients, which include two men and a woman between the ages of 20 to 39 years old, were collected between Nov. 29 and Dec. 1.
