Fun turns fatal in sleigh ride wreck near Leavenworth Fish Hatchery

LEAVENWORTH – A joyful ride on a horse-drawn sleigh turned tragic when the driver was killed after being thrown from the luge Thursday afternoon. iFIBER ONE News partner, News Radio 560 KPQ, reports that Frederick Duzan [do sen] was on a trail near the Leavenworth Fish Hatchery when a wheel started to come off, spooking the horses which he tried to get under control, but was ejected and hit his head on a large boulder. He died on impact. Chelan County officials say Duzan slowed down enough to allow his four passengers to get out of the sleigh before it wrecked. The horses were rescued from a nearby pond.
