Deputy injured in crash enroute to call near East Wenatchee

EAST WENATCHEE – A Douglas County deputy was involved in a collision while responding to a call Wednesday afternoon north of East Wenatchee. According to the Washington State Patrol, the officer had the vehicle’s lights on and siren blaring as he drove through a red light at the intersection of SR 28B and Eastmont Avenue, where another vehicle that had a green light struck the deputy on the driver’s side. The officer and the other driver, a 35-year-old East Wenatchee man, suffered minor injuries. The state patrol continues to investigate the collision.
