High winds are blamed for a fire that destroyed a Soap Lake outbuilding early Sunday. Grant County Fire District 7 Chief Kirk Sheppard says a tarp blew into power lines at Rd. 19 NW and Rd. B NW property causing an electrical short circuit which started the fire and created an electrocution hazard which meant waiting for Grant PUD crews to shut off service. No injuries were reported.
