Grant County PUD reports power demand is up more than 7% over projections and that’s partially due to weather and COVID-19 which caused more people to stay home. Another factor is the housing boom which means more residental customers. Dry conditions and high winds were cited as factors in the more than 35% increase in power usage amongst irrigators. Commercial power demand was down due to COVID-19 business closures.
