Strong winds on Tuesday ripped off the gymnasium roof at Ancient Lakes Elementary in Quincy. Officials say a severe downdraft hit around 4:30 p.m. sending parts of the roof flying. Grant County Fire District 3 Assistant Chief Jim Kling says while no one was hurt there would have been injuries if classes were 100% back in session. The building is closed to staff for the remainder of the week.
